It is crucial to provide hope and support to moms of premature babies. Mothers are left alone with their pain. Just a second ago, you were with your baby in the womb, and now you stand completely alone. You can't take your child home, you can't hold them in your arms
You search for reasons within yourself, blame yourself for not being able to hold on, feel anger, and don't understand why this happened to you
Loved ones, in their attempts to help, often hurt, and many parents choose to go through this path silently, which plunges them even deeper into despair. Medical staff deliver diagnoses, offer unclear predictions, and your world crumbles beneath your feet every second, every day. You're exhausted, never giving yourself a break, unable to sleep... And this goes on for long, long months. Often, even after leaving the hospital, mothers continue to carry this burden, still in need of assistance
That's why support for moms is so crucial
No one is immune, no one can see the future, but I know for sure that if, in life, circumstances lead to the birth of a premature baby, I would want our club to be there. Just to talk about your pain many times, and no one would say that you're crying for no reason... Just to sit in silence together.
To feel the immense power behind these warm items, blankets, octopuses, and so much more
To have fellow moms who have already walked this path, so that each one could feel support, hope, and strength
And even if mothers have to face difficulties, I want each one to know:

About Premature Babies
Premature babies are considered to be those born before 37 weeks of pregnancy
The smallest ones weigh around 500 grams
In Latvia, the statistics of premature births account for 6% of all births
In 2022, around 932 babies were born prematurely
Premature babies require special care conditions
They spend several weeks to 2-4 months in the hospital
In the intensive care unit, they are often alone without their mothers
Premature babies grow up to become great and well-known individuals
Octopuses are very, very important for premature babies
In the womb, they could play with the umbilical cord, sense the taste and scent of their mother. But arriving in our vast world prematurely, they are surrounded by hospital walls and their mothers are not there

While inside the mother's womb, tiny babies are in the fetal position, which helps them grow and develop. The amniotic fluid surrounding the baby protects them from gravity and shields them from the external world
